Howdy Unc Always glad to see ya-- nice to have a little erudite post here--even if it is poetry
Glad you didn't sneak a little Rock-Gomer-Duke crap into the discussion
Knowing your love of knowledge, here is a little tale for you ........
Back in younger days, me and some other knotheads I went to college with would hitch a ride to the Big Heart Tavern located at the end of HWY 33. One of the knotheads girlfriend's dad would pick us up and take on in to Tulsa(about 30 miles away).
Of course we would have a few barley pops waiting. I happened to notice that an icepick was stuck in the wall near the pool table.
Realizing that survival in red neck country sometimes balanced on knowing the local customs, I asked the bartender why the icepick was stuck in the wall
His reply was "arguments"
Now there ain't no icepick here--as far as I know, no one has been seriously injured from what has gone on in this dump but we have always operated on if you you are big enough....or dumb enough to say something then you are big enough or dumb enough to suffer the consequences
Seems to have worked so far and from what I have seen, these would have been considered love taps from the olden days when you and I cut our teeth and made our bones at HJ's and other places
Like I said Unc--good to see ya--jump in anytime

Good to see you too Wu!! Yeah, that Duke, Gomer, Prince, and Michael Jackson stuff can be pretty dang funny with proper photoshop work, and just the right words to go along with the ruse...but of course, not everyone has the type sense o' humor TO find it funny---Boards like the one where that stuff gets put up reg'lar-like have always pretty much been all about shiats and giggles to your's truly here, so I try to supply plenty of 'em to people who "get it"---but there are some folks still out there who take it all way too serious, and often live and die by The Post.
You have witnessed it too, many times, in many places---and in fact, those people who get offended are good for an additional laugh when they go Bat Shiat, Finger Painting on The Walls With Doody Crazy over some BS Post, eh wot?
My Board Battlin' days are pretty much over, as I don't derive the pleasure I once did goin' keyboard to keyboard and slicing and dicing worthy opponents---must be them 65+ years I be packin' nowadays, prolly...Board Battlin', constant huntin', fishin' and chasing poontang just ain't what it used to be...A fella like me can live vicariously now thinking back, and often reveling in all the wins, and losses in those arenas, and not get wet, cold, tired, skunked, or a case of The Black Mongolian Clap quite so easily as in days gone by...now I find my pleasure in a warm toilet seat of a winter morning, and a newly busted seal on a half gallon of Jack...
Just don't be the same as it once was on The Duck Boards nowadays none neither---The New Generation done dropped the ball, or just never did get it properly passed on to them, seems to me.
Anyways, I'll drop in now and again, and not ruffle any feathers...on purpose.

O.K. Griffin, here's a poem that jes' maybe even you will appreciate:
I stuck my head up a Billy Goat's Azz The smell was enough to blind me, The more I smelt the more I felt The girl I left behind me.
If I forked her once't I forked her twice't Musta forked her once too often, I musta sprung some dang thing 'Cause now she's laying in a coffin!
***
Better? And yeah, if ya want, go ahead and send it to one o' them thar Reader's Digest Poetry Contests...Feel free to borrow it, and put yer name under it if ya got's you a mind to.

dumber but not better so there is that moron
I prefer a Haiku......substance over volume, ya know? Or...in this particular case, firmness over diarrhea.

No, he was this dopey when he arrived.
His memory of events are all in his imagination too.

Indeed, Master Wu, I as age I find that many of the memories of my younger self have diminished.
While I am often called upon for a virtuoso violin performance, or to commission an original painting for the United Nations, among other entities, I no longer feel the to share my talent and vision with the rest of the world, outside of the philanthropic endeavors I am already mired in.

At first I considered these places as more like a meth house. Everyone sitting around going as fast as possible, and picking at scabs.
Do you remember you and I talking in the mornings on the original Arkie Board, and you would pop the threads?
Now, I said Old Jones arrived that way. I didn't say he left that way. Everything becomes different when you are face to face, like DAWG is getting at.
I learned a bunch from WJ, and maybe he from me.
To which, I'm sure foots might just yell, "BOOOLSHIT", but it's true.

True enough.
If I remember correctly I learned Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata from an old Arkie Board member, but I was the first to apply it to the mouth harp. I taught myself over 2 nights while drinking a Merlot that I had developed in Paraguay during some down time on a Lowland Mountain Snipe hunt.
