Specklebellies flying all night over the house
      #253942 - 11/05/16 05:12 AM

Somewhere somebody woke up and is thinking

Where the fork did all these geese come from?

I hunted Bob Brown yesterday and specks were flying south dayum near non-stop through out the hunt. Also saw my first snow geese of the year - and no they weren't pelicans! Not sure why there was a migration on when it was going to be 68 degrees and what wind there was was out of the south - but there definitely was. Swampy called them calender birds.

It was the same along the Miss. river. I got to the parking lot an hour before shooting time and turned off the truck. All I could hear was a sky full of specks. They didn't stop all day.

There were also more gwt than any of us could remember ever being around on the opener.

Has to be a 'calendar'--daylight/dark thing cause it sure ain't cold in The Peoples Republick of NoDakia this weekend

but the forecast is for a cold front in Bismarck next week-not freeze up but I figure it will be cold enough for a few thin skins to head south

Think I will head to the cabin after I vote Tuesday --
