So they sign Upshall.
Is that instead of jagr?
Nothing against Upshall per se but he's no jagr and then it also means another young guy gets blocked.
Maybe most of these guys really aren't ready but I'm pretty skeptical of what I am seeing. Yeo wants to keep the rookie number down, and I'm trying to find upside without doing the opposite.

The season starts tomorrow. I think they might have a full squad. I hear Tony Twist is being talked to about signing a contract with the Blouse. Seems they need some heart.......or maybe it was balls. They’re lacking something and he might help fill a void.

Plenty of heart and soul last night. A rough patch at the end of regulation, with a monumentally dumb penalty and getting overwhelmed afterwards for about 5 mins. But they overcame the adversity and the left the building of the defending Cup champs with 2 points and some really good things to take from the game.
You can't win them all if you don't win the first one. Looks like an undefeated season is still a possibility...

Oh yeah, hard to imagine the officiating getting worse but it seems to be heading that way with the idiotic slashing rules that are now going to be enforced with vigor. And of course more of the same arbitrary calls and make-up calls that will keep the NHL a garage league for at least another season... When will these idiots that run the NHL see they are killing the game with the way these regular season games are officiated?

Quite a game. Down 1-0 and quickly answered the Cup Champs on their big celebration night.
5 goals.... my my. This team finished their plays last night.

I missed the game....I was watching The Greatest Game Ever Played, on the Golf Network. I kept waiting for them to show replays of Game 6 of the 2011 World Series, but it never happened. Only half way trough, did I realize it was a movie.

Hoping the Blues keep having the "D" get involved offensively. It's going to lead to some odd man rushes against but the net results should be very good. Both Pietrangelo and Parayko are very strong offensively.
Starting to see Pietrangelo as a much, much better Captain than Backes could ever have been. And if he keeps playing at this level, he's a Norris Trophy candidate. The guy is solid!!
Hitch will have them prepared to be sure. A win against the Stars would be pretty sweet. Let's hope they don't have a let down for their home opener like the Penguins did. BTW, anyone see the drubbing Chicago put on the Pens? Holy cow, that was ugly!!

He should be paired with Eddy permanently, imo, jbo return or not.
Don't think he's a classic Norris defensive guy. Not so sure about the Captain thing either, we'll see. But he's been top 10-15 D for some time for sure for anyone who knows hockey and definitely one of the Blues best players.
After all these years, this team still doesn't have a top scoring center/play maker. Not many teams win the cup without one.
Back to the ice Saturday with a bunch of rookies that need to hang on and jump in while they do it. Dallas has one hell of an offense.

I like the long rushes by the defense. They've got the horses to do that. I hate dump and chase hockey.
They looked good these first 2 games. We'll see. The offense is going to have to play at a very high level for the entire season to make it work. They don't have many natural scorers so they can't let off the gas. Not easy in an 80 game season.

I was intending to comment on the strengths and weaknesses of each player but the 3 Blouse Brothers took the words right out of my mouth.
I predict if we win every game we will make it deep into the playoffs.....next forking summer.
