The Royals likely spent all that new money on a pool table and a 72 inch flat screen.
See you in 2045.

The Bandwagon bunch is so uninterested it has to call someone to post the team updates. Damn.......that's a new low, even for this possible. I guess the bandwagon flipped and it's a bad crash. Possibly no survivors.

During Baseball season, Mel and I text about the Cards and Royals and during their games. He keeps me updated on Royal stuff and I do the same for him about Cards.
I decided to post about the Royals opening day-- not at anyone's request or anything like that
Now ...how enthused the Royal fan base is on this forum and how many times they post and topics of same is up to them
I was glad to see Bubba celebrate the tanking Braves 1st loss on their quest to get the 1st pick in this year's draft.

This can only be settled one way. It was talked about years ago but did not come to fruition.....
It's time for a bottle caps tournament pitting the East vs. the West. Old shoulders must be ripped apart and killed in order for a true accord to be reached. I have well over 1500 caps.......let's get the logistics settled.
As my brother from another mother would say if he were still among us......bring it negroes!!!!

I concur with your expert analysis. Card go all the way. It has been 5 years since we won......and that seems to be the current pace of championships. Just think........only like 37 more for a west side run

Nope just started watching. Haven't lost any games I've seen so far, but today's relief pitching is gettin' whacked as we speak.
BTW, the edited version of my post is noted, and yer Cards are gonna have to step up to beat the Royals. We're healthy, just need steady relief...
Lots of season to watch yall eat yer words...

Dude......you picked KC to win more games last year. You did it this year. In sure you will do that every year. Your pipe dream happened like every 10-15 years. If you haven't noticed........it's a little late in the year to pick up relief help. Just like KU football, who is always happy to beat Mizzou......Royals peeps are happy and call it a successful season when they win the season series against STL. I'll gladly let y'all win that series, in exchange for a post season run.

We'll just see how it unfolds Dog. I am a diehard Royals fans since the A's left town. Frankly, I'd love to see the Cards back again. I've rooted for them since the 60's WS. 65 I think.
Just enjoy a friendly exchange is all I'd prefer.
However we can take cheap shots in the meantime dude...

OK. 2 and 6 this far. Last year we were 6 and 2.
But, they're the only team in the majors with 0 errors to date. Won't last, but a good indicator.
We need some small ball and getting the pitching to gell.

Well, I'd say the Royals are in a world of hurt right now. No hitting and the bull pen can't seem to gain any consistency. Think all the arms traded away to win the 2015 WS has come home to roost. Duffy and Vargas are only two half-way consistent pitchers. It's early but real trouble is looming on the horizon.

Well I am pleased with both Vargas and Duffy tonight. Two excellent 6-7 inning starts, both with a win.
Long season, we miss Ventura, but it's day by day. We'll see....
I too think we're gonna struggle with pitching but tonight was good.
Cards win again?

Nope-- Wong was wrong (he is really getting to be a bonehead and I'm even starting to think Matheny was right about him)

Some ten days later and we went from 6-6 to 7-10. Geez! Pitching has been stellar but the bats have gone quiet. Just 10 runs in 7 games...
Royals have a knack of the entire team's hitting going to hell at the same time.
Still early.......

Royals as of 4/29 and 10:53 am 7-15 for .318 1 and 9 in their last 10
Cards finally above .500 12-11 for .522 (Small bears are at .545) 8 and 2 for their last 10 guardedly optimistic the St Louis Stooges will goof their way into contention by the All Star Break
Got a text from Mel saying he hopes the Royals get rained out so they can not lose today
Obviously, there is no joy in Royalville

So, we all have to do some things related to our jobs that we would rather not do. I recall watching episodes of "Dirty Jobs" with Mike Rowe and wondering how some people do some of those jobs.
Well, I have one of those situations Wednesday night. I have to be in KC for some bidness and it has been explained to me that we are going to the Royals game... Apparently, we're sitting in Craft & Draft seats or suite or whatever the heck it is. While I have over-indulged and been over-served some craft brews over the years, I never drink too much on bidness functions. This is going to pose a challenge. I have to endure a Royals game, with all the drinks I want, at my disposal and can only nurse 3 or 4 to get me through the night...
Wish me luck...

I think what you are failing to realize.............yes, the cardinals are at .500. We stunk it up early, but are playing as good as any team right now. We have a couple problems to work out, but the team is starting to hit and the starting pitching is there. We are also only ONE game
Out of 1st place, with a rainout game to play. I think the Cardinals are in the mix and it's early. Much like a Diesel engine, it's just taking them a little longer to get going.
The Royals on the other hand, have the worst record in baseball. The team is full of free agents and management sold out the team to win a title. I guess that's the difference between old money and new money. I thought New Money was around to stay?? Opening night was a big hit with the fans, then all 21-22,000 on average showed up. Let's see what happens come July with a dismal record. I bet it's closer to 13k a night. The bandwagon done flipped over.

Dude........they are only 3.5 games back in the Wild Card Race. Leave them alone. They won a Championship in 2015. New Money is still living that one up, although I do see less and less Royals gear on the streets these days. I guess they are putting that stuff away in a hope chest to break it out in 2055. They wore the newness off the 2015 Championship gear, so now they can safely store it away.

Royals swept 3 straight from the Orioles over the weekend.
The Bats are finally warming up sufficient to overcome inconsistent pitching.
BTW, they just finished winning 7 out of the last 8 games. Still in the cellar but if the trend continues, not for long!

True dat, dog.
Gorge Bonifacio hit the longest homer of this season in the majors Sunday, 470 ft. Never got higher than 55 ft. He's just up from Omaha. They ran out of balls with covers on them here ....

The Royals are struggling as previously mentioned but there are a few signs team is coming to life with bats. After all, Gordon got a homer last night after 192 ABs. Problem is starting pitching is all shot to hell right now, and bull pen has started giving up big fly balls. I think if things are not greatly improved by all-star break we will see some players departing in a sell-off.
Had to chuckle over the ball covering response by Dog.

Royals take 3 of 4 from the Twinks this weekend. I binge-watched all 4 of the games and we're seeing a big co tribution from the farm. Bonifacio, Solar, Merrifield, and Torres have all stepped up and are playing great ball. Yesterday, the 6, 7, 8, and 9 hitters all homered.
We're tied for 2nd with MN. 3 back of the Tribe. 41-40 at the midseason.
Not much different for the Cards. 39-41, back 3 from the league leader.
Go Royals AND Cards!!!!

I'm waiting to the last month of the season to jump on or off the wagon...been to one game so far, top deck was full of Girl Scouts, you couldn't find a beer vendor, all ice cream and cotton candy, bet they made a killing...
It kinda sucks, the Royals are playing just good enough to stay in contention, which means they will hold onto their four or five free agents, might try to make a splash at the trade deadline, using some young talent as trade bait, which we don't have much of...right now, I see this year could set back the Royals quit a bit...starting pitching has been good since April, pull pen has been spotty and I don't see it getting better...

You sure about those FA's??
I could see Hosmer with some birds on a bat uniform next season.
That be sumpthin, wouldn't it? bwaaaaaaaaaaaa

It might be worth it just to see Dogs posts explaining why they signed someone from New Money..

Boras is Hosmer's agent. He'll end up on one of the coasts...

I'm afraid it's going to be a tough weekend coming up for the New Money Boys. I've never been a fan of any of the coast teams (the media already loves them enough) but I have to admit that the Dodgers do look like the class of the NL.

In case you were wondering.........Even with your 9 game win run in July.......the Royals still only won 18 games in the same span. Still trailing Old money.

Boys in Blue are 2 games back in the AL Central and are currently IN the wild card game
Birds 5.5 games back in NL Central and 8 games OUT of the wild card game
Until the Birds break .500, the biggest question in Cardinal Nation is who is running this team
Matheny or Molina??

I'm confused...........when did the regular season turn into 180 games???
1 Game difference can be huge. Just ask Bubba's 2011 Braves what 1 game meant. 1 game decides plenty of things.

Based on size of the market, KC's attendance ain't bad. By comparison, Cards should be sold out every game, dog....

Yes, and the line to get into a Yankees or Mets game should extend past Philadelphia.
The Cardinals attendance, by any measure, is impressive.....when you consider the gauntlet of gunfire in the nation's deadliest city it's beyond impressive.
Do NOT, by any measure, try to say that the Royals games are well attended......that's just laughable.

Dude - where else can you go and be sitting in the stands at a MLB game and get hit by stray gunfire from OUTSIDE the stadium. We own it.

The Cards are only trailing the LA Dodgers in attendance for the entire league. 43,000 asses a night on average. The LA market is waaaaaaaaay bigger than the STL market last I checked.......2.7 million vs 2.4 million
Fans this season so far.
Our mid America market has put more asses in seats than NY, Philly, Miami, DC area, San Fran, DFW, Houston, the other Cali teams. . fork with those population centers they should be killing our attendance nightly.

Look here - I know you San Louianians think you have everything the best...and the worst and use it to your advantage.....but Joe Chit the Ragman was bustin caps in Royals fans well before it was cool to do so...back in 2000.

I guess that shows how shitty the fan base is. The only team in the state over .500, currently in the playoffs, and fighting for a division title.........with 25,000 on average showing up. 21,000 During the week.
I guess the wheels haven't been put back on the bus yet. Come late September of a playoff run is likely, Homer Yost will cry, fans will show up in New Money gear claiming how loyal and great the fan base is, bitching how the Eastsider fans are called the best fans in baseball.........when clearly 38,000 people showed up in KC for some playoff baseball. Then we can listen to Homer dipshits claiming how proud of their city and baseball team.

MLB has played a 162 game season..........since 1962. It has never had a 180 game season. You mentioned the 180 game span, not me. If you are counting the playoff like you Weatsiders typically do in win totals......it would be 182 games. In that case, a ONE GAME difference would be a big Forking deal. Game 182 would take home the WS Trophy........so once again you're thinking is wrong. Game 182, just one damn game is the most important of the season.
Just sayin

Mac feel free to Google whatever your heart desires
You will find estimates for KC from 2.34 million to over 2.4 million depending on what is considered the Metropolitan Statistical Area
The point is that there is not that big a population difference any more--
in fact KC is one of the fastest growing places in Missouri even if they don't go to the ball park to support a team making a move to get in the playoffs.
As for talking out of your ass.......
I guess the question Dawg would ask is
Are your lips moving??
just saying
