If Allen is between the pipes and/or JBO is on the ice I will really throw in the towel. It would prove that they are not interested in winning. The Wild owned them a week ago and had a big win on Friday as well. We will see which Blues team shows up..

Since I haven't been watching much, and only saw the last 6 minutes of the game yesterday.....I take it that the Wild game constitutes a "good effort" by the Blues?
What a long season this is setting out to be.

I had Parayko anointed as the next Chris Pronger. This is why I don't gamble... I have only watched about 1/2 the games and I have seen him cough up pucks for game winning or game tying goals three times already this season. WTF is wrong with that dude. He might be one of the most talented / skilled young defensemen in the NHL. Maybe he and Jake Allen drink or smoke from the same supply. Holy chit is that guy regressing.
On the bright side O'Reilly has been everything you could ask for and more. I'm not sure I've ever seen a better faceoff man. And he has a nose for the net...
This team needs to find a soul and fast. The talent is there. The grit and fundamental play is not.

ummm Parayko started his regression after his great rookie year and since down hill. So this year he's had like 3 games with fire and the rest he's been an oversized puppy, with 2 game losing brain farts so far this year. Inexcusable, lazy, stupid mistakes they were and both at the worst time and the best location for the opposing team.
It WAS a good effort yesterday. 50 minutes good and for most of the players 60 minutes good. And for that ref to make that call with 3 to go was typical garage league BS.
They are in a hole of Armstrongs making,need to ditch Allen for good and trade for a #3 D man, they have the forwards to do the latter.

I can get on board with that.....as long as the captaincy is stripped from Pietrangelo and given to either Schenn or O'Reilly. Also take the A from Steen (for chrissakes) and give it to the one who does't get the C. Pietrangelo and Steen have led the team nowhere......they are not leaders.
I also agree with sptsman that they need to find a soul and some grit. The current C has neither.

Petro never was Captain material and now he's playing the worst hockey of his career.
Steen remains the center of the rumor of a rift on the team, about not being Captain. Who knows.
In 15 games as a Blue, O'Reilly is clearly the best choice for Captain, but he needs to be able to jump on some guys, starting with those two.

Welp, that was about 3 or 4 games past due. Waaaay too much talent on this team to be this bad. This may not be a Cup team but it is sure isn't a below .500 roster either. More frightening is the regression of key players like Pietrangelo, Parayko, Schwartz, even Tarasenko...
Any chance they can land coach Q? I'm not sure the pockets are deep enough here in STL. And does he want to? My guess is he would. There is enough talent here to make the playoffs and if they could stay healthy, maybe even make a run. I have little doubt he could and would make a difference...
I hope like heck they get rid of the new D coach as well. This defense is the worst I've seen in years. And they have the talent to be pretty good defensively.
I would say going .500 over the next 4 games would be a major step in the right direction. After that, they'll need to step it up and play .600 to .700 hockey...

Uh......I don't watch.....but I WILL laugh every day when I see the scores and game line. Funny to read all of the pundits now say the team has no character, no chemistry, no will, and no leadership.......uh.....DUH!! This has been going on for 3 seasons with this group.

I only saw the last 10 minutes of the third period.....but that was AWESOME!!
LS - I'm counting on you to let me know when the circus has left town.
When the Note pulled Allen, WITH 6 MINUTES LEFT AND DOWN BY 2, to gain an extra man on the 4-3 power play....to get 5 on 3 with no goalie, I could have swore I was watching DeSmet vs. CBC. BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
