I predict that it happens with a quickness this year. It's wet and gonna get wetter. The frozen ground holds the moisture. The worm will turn, and a couple of warm nights will kick things square in the ass.
I'm no Guru, but that's my take.

i agree, it's been a great winter for moisture. the crick in front of the house has been up all winter and looks great. 7 day forecast shows 2-3" more for us and some temps in the mid 50's, so hopefully winter is on it's way out.
ready to burn a few seegars in the mushroom woods out a walkin around.

i'm going to go take walk tomorrow or Thursday. it was 70° down here sunday and supposed to be 70° tomorrow and Thursday as well. a fella east of me a few miles found a couple this past weekend.

rocks is the only thing that keeps to soil from washing away...
the old lady in josey wales said only murderers and thieves come from Missouri... yup, have you tried gardening or working the soil in the Ozarks?? damn right you'll kill and steal.. don't get me started about building fence...

Back when I had in-laws, they lived near Lake Springfield. I walked some river bank on the upper end and actually found some morels. It was a good 10 to 14 days before I found any in these parts.
It's beautiful country in those parts, but I don't think I could to live in a place where good soil is at a premium. 
I hope you pick 'em and eat 'em til you wanna puke !

Went looking yesterday for a bit. Found one alongside a deer trail where the leaf litter was minimal. Forecast for the next few days looks promising

just picked 9 and found 10 under a sycamore on my place here. most I've ever found under that tree since we've been here (14 years)
is that good enough for ya, Rick??
no pics since the hosting site kurt mentioned is now blocked as well

Getting better, but without pics, you might as well say it was 100
I went for a walk in Parkville between games of a doubleheader Tuesday - undergrowth is getting so thick already you couldn't see much....other than the 50-11 deer tracks everywhere you looked.
Fifteen minutes of my life I won't get back.
