Nothing up on my place yet, but according to the MO Morel facebook page, there's a fella less than 10 miles east of me that always finds the first of the year and he found one a couple weeks ago. (I think he's putting a heat lamp on em)

Daffodils/jonquils are up and flowering down here. Forsythia is blooming. Redbuds are showing color and bradford pears are blooming.
Won't be long

Same of you know the gent named Rafe Hollister on here..
Social media posts (& pics) show the fella killing the shrooms a county or two north of me.

Two separate outings have earned 130-150 morels for him.

I remember him and his " Tick Farm " adventures.

We used to talk and swap music way back when. Tell him I said " Hi ".

I haven't been in the woods, but I'm getting pics from up at Twain. Probably a hundred grays.

Damn it seems early.

Found these today on my place. Also found some dried up blacks that I've never seen before, but never looked for them where I found them.

These are pretty fresh as it got down to 21° and 25° middle of last week here.

And you're right, the earliest I've ever found yella ones was March 29th years ago. Dogwoods and redbuds are out down here, two+ weeks early.

Found three more yellas friday and it's been in the 80's the past couple of days, so I don't know if they're going to be done or not?

We all better get some rain though or it's going to be a long summer

It is some boooolchit I tell you....compleete booolchit.

You cannot get on the book of faces without seeing forty eleven photos of enough mushrooms to give the entire population of Springfield MO the drizzles for three days.

Most of them Central MO and Ill photos....I am talking wheel barrows full - water troughs full....multiple 45 to 50 pounds in one pick....

...yet, I can go walk for an hour, doesn't matter if I am in the sandy bottoms, along creeksides, or traversing ridges and I find one mushroom while my giblets manage to find 12 ticks!!

I have not seen a single snake though...so all is not bad I guess.

Rain this afternoon for the first time in about a month around these parts, so maybe it will help, but I am afraid it is too late

I hope to be able to laugh about it soon….but not yet

I was hoping to torture myself again today after the rain Monday into early Tuesday but instead just decided to run 130 of entrance cable from the house to the future pool/storage building….looking back on it the giblet visitors might have been the better option

Hope all is well in SEMO!

I've told you before, you're built too far off of the ground for that low work..

What hurt more, your glutes, hamstrings or shoulders?
