Now I'm actually starting to feel sorry for you. I haven't seen a carving-up of a cafe member like this since huntoften armed himself with his stupidity and took to battle.
Wu, you might need to step in and moderate this a little. I'm starting to to fear the last stand won't let up and griffin will go the way of huntoften and Mac. The bleeding has already started and it looks like griffin won't just tap out. Down goes griffin, down goes griffin... Down goes griffin

I haven't carved any body up.
He took the knife and did it to himself.
bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I'm done with it anyway.
But I am getting the popcorn ready, just waiting for a Blues swoon reaction.

Some sloppy, uninspired play here lately going back to the Arizona game. Too many names to mention.
Very clear we need a top six winger and I can make the case it's actually two.
And Jake Allen is slowly moving back into his old shell.
This team has to be at 95-100% effort to win and they are not doing that.

Petro: Nice takeaway on the game tying goal.
Schenn: "Guys are stepping up"
Huge home stand coming up but heck....It's a good time to be a Blues fan.

Schenn, Schwartz, and Tarasenko are unconscious right now.
How in the MOTHER FORK does Bouwmeester knock Gunnarsson out of the lineup? Stupid as hell.

That was an ass kicking. Not a particularly good opponent to set them up for your team coming in, but an ass kicking none the less. And fork the Preds.
Jbo is a problem. Yeo and Army need to get past the contract and do what's best for this team. Got caught already pinching last night and cost a goal, thing is what is he pinching for he is not a good threat anyway.
The Oilers, right now, are a mess. My god they have forked that whole thing up there in Alberta.
How about Senko dropping his gloves after he hunted Benning down. Pretty dang cool.
Big division test this weekend. Go Blue!

How about a Gordie Howe hat-trick for Tarasenko?
Schenn is proving to be quite the acquisition and it is even more sweet when you consider they were able to dump Lehtera when they acquired him. That is GM'ing at its finest...
Not going to worry to much about the Bouwmeester situation for a few weeks. Hopefully, it will work itself out.
Go Blue!!

Welp, the Nashville game exposed two of the Blues biggest issues. #1 - Slow starts and sloppy 1st periods. #2 - An anemic power play. Hard to imagine having that much talent on your #1 and #2 lines, as well as top scoring defensemen, and not being able to have a decent power play. As much as I like this coaching staff, this in primarily on them. Whatever system they're trying to employ is not a good fit for this group of players. And it appears their ability to recognize situations and adjust is very limited, when it comes to the power play. The good news is they can fix it. The talent and effort are there. They just need a better game plan for the power play.
As far as the 1st periods go, that is mostly on the players. They need to show up ready to play. And I'll even go a step further and put more of that on the Captain and Alternate Captains.
If it weren't for Hutton last night, the Blues could have trailed 3 or 4 -0 after that 1st period. That was some uninspired, sloppy hockey...
Hopefully, they clean it up tonight against the Wild. They need a strong start...
Go Blue!!

Blues have short memory as they went back to dumping the puck right into Rhinne's hands time and time again. And Rhinne knows what to do with that puck when he gets it.
I was there, they were out of sync all night. Schenn missed multiple good chances alone.
Blues are in first with a weak pp, weak pk and a middle of the road goalie. If they can fix these things, even marginally, we will see a good Blues team in April. I don't care about winning the division either.
If Rhinne goes off his game or gets hurt, Preds will be in trouble. Hutton played a good game, I like him as #2 and it's quite possible he will be asked to do more as we move through the season.

Looks like they read my post and fixed both the slow start and the power play issues...
Solid effort by the boyz. An exclamation point added with the rock-'em-sock-'em, marathon fight by Thorburn and Stewart (the ending was comical with both unable to throw a punch hard enough to break and egg). That scrap reminded me of some of the old Brian Sutter / Terry Ruskowski battles, back in the day. Good old time hockey there...
Hard to ask much more of this team. Effort is there every game and when they fail to execute, they seem to come right back, the next game and get their chit together.
Go Blue!!!

Yeo at least reacts to issues.
Sammy Blaes on the PP and getting Steen off the PP point helped a lot.
Now he needs to get off the Jbo solution. He is NOT a solution. We were a first place roster without him, no need to force that contract down our throats. Find a way to deal with this guy, any way, and get back to the the guys who brung you to the dance.
Blues will need a 20 goal guy for 2nd line wing. Tricky to do .....still think it's down under....just don't fork it up....but sooner the better, imo.

And the Blues thank you for your financial contribution to their organization, regardless of whatever fantasy you are harboring that they don't get any of that money...
How much do they get for a Blue Jacket replica jersey anyway....
Man, did you pick a bad year to go on your little pout-fest...

Dude, I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Great season so far.
Nope, they get no parking money, and most importantly, no concessions from me. I drink more beer than the price of a ticket at a game.
Of course they get their "shared revenue".....but we both know it's a fraction of what I'll spend in another city.
