So, 4-1 victory in Ottawa, following a 2-1 OT victory in Toronto. In both games they looked decent and played with the intensity needed to win. Next 4 games are Arizona, Ottawa, Colorado & Montreal. All at home and likely to have Schwartz back by the end of the homestand. No reason they can't grab 6 of the 8 points available. And some of you knuckleheads think they won't even make the playoffs? It would take a catastrophic meltdown or some devastating injuries for that not to happen.

Don't hold your breath for any trades bringing a marquee player here. First, there is no cap room and no GM is going to take equal salary for less talent. We just have to hope they can get back to the same game they were playing in the first 1/3 of the season. When Schwartz gets back, that is a very real possibility.

Saturday night will be their breakout night. Write it down!! I predict 5 or more goals...

Go Blues or Predators or whoever gets your money these days...

Dude - I watched an interview with your boy Army where HE said this team is further away from a cup run then they were 2-3 years ago and that the window had closed. HE also said they were in danger of missing the playoffs this year if they played the second half of the season like the last month before their break.....and of course they are. All you have to do is watch the loss column....the Blouse still has 3-4 games in hand on most teams.

Yeah, this 2nd half of the schedule should favor the Blouse, but it's hard to say with this team.....they've never really wanted it that bad as evidence by their dismal playoff performances.

This team will be teeing it up in April.

Nothing to be worried about here.

A game against the Blouse is just what the doctor ordered for a team on a 12 game losing streak.

Stastny is -7
Steen is -14
Berglund is -3
Allen is MIA

By contract and experience THIS is the core of the team. Time for wholesale changes. The only problem is the GM has tied up these players, THAT NOBODY WANTS, with contracts that he can't dump......and that bonehead got a contract extension as well.

Colorado will knock the Blouse down to wild card status by the end of the week......then they'll have to hold on for dear life to make the playoffs. I doubt they'll hold off Dallas so the last spot will be their only chance. It doesn't matter because this team can't get past the first round of the playoffs.

It'll take 3 seasons to work their way out of this cluster fork.

Because they haven't been playing .500 for the last 6 weeks?

Pretty clear you are not paying attention.

Missed the last couple of games but I was told Saturday was the worst game of their year.

It's a long season, I have never written them off, but this team played better without Steen, Berglund and J bo.

They need to SELL come deadline. SELL and get better doing it.

Only in Blues world does that make sense.

Go Blue!

The only problem is the only players other team will buy, are the ones you don't want to sell.

C'mon man, get with the program. Yeo is quoted to day as saying those guys "just need to step up".

I guess we've come full circle on this deal. What a mess.

They'll be clinging to the last wild card spot by the end of the weekend.

bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I got knucklehead #1 who has "full circle" stated to be completed before the All star break. He's happy because he has seen the train wreck all along before the train ever left the station. This dude is still undecided if a Blues SC celebration would bring him back into the Blues family. He is taking trips to other NHL cities to show his disdain for current management. So....consider the source.

I got knucklehead #2 coming in now claiming Stanley Cup while the team is in present dysfunction. He's wondering why anyone would doubt the Blues can play .500 while for the past 6 weeks they have played under .500. He loves Army and claims victory out of little more than cigar smoke. He is not to be trusted either.

For those who follow, stay tuned and listen to the only truth on this board. Compared to these two knuckleheads, I'm really the only thing you got to what is actually happening with this great franchise.

The team is in flux, the team is flawed, no easy fixes in sight. The odds are against them to become a play off factor. Multiple things have to happen for this team to emerge as a threat. They have some time, but will they have the HEART and the TALENT to turn the ship. Will Army have the nuts to do what is best for this teams near future?

I am rooting for all of that of course. Always have and always will. I'll watch any game any time. But there's only one team I a give a chit about.

Go Blue!

So......you ARE questioning this teams heart. The circle is complete.

Make up your mind there, Kreskin.......it ain't gonna make any difference in the season....this version of the Blues is toast.

The January version or the October/November version?

Nothing but 82 games is guaranteed. Not heart, not play offs, not failure.

But 82 games is guaranteed. I'll give them that before I write any obit.

If Yeo plays Allen any time soon, he needs to take a slapshot to the head to knock some sense into him..

The Blues were apparently "mad" against the mighty Senators....owners of the longest current losing streak and 3rd to last in the league.

OK

Tomorrow we find out just how "mad" when they take on one of the two hottest teams in hockey (Bruins and Avs) when they play Colorado. Both teams coming to the game with a day off.

We shall see.

The 'lanch are 4th in GPG....I think it would be a good game for Yeo to get Allen back in. BWAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

And still yet far from their best.

But you could sense Schwartz just being on the ice.

Amazing what 2 pp goals and solid tending can do for a team with a good blue line.

Once again we come to the Jake Allen crossroad.

Yeo should stick with Hut tonight and then, out of sheer necessity, let Allen take on the Sabres.

When you look at the Blues present position in standings, then understand how if Allen could have just managed 2 or 3 wins out of his last run of dismal game performances, The impact is revealing.

Hut is the guy, no doubt. But the team is still dependent upon Allen to be decent for his fill in starts. Here's to hoping he comes around, the Blues want to remain in top 3 of the Central.

Did you watch the game? Allen was outstanding. He gave up one goal on the worst goalie interference non-call in the history of the NHL and one power play goal that was unstoppable. Otherwise he had about 50 saves and some were spectacular. Unless you're holding him accountable for the empty netter with 0.4 seconds left.

As for the even strength goal, I am still in disbelief that was not disallowed. I am in even more disbelief the Blues have not made a huge stink about it in the press and by default to the NHL. Holy cow that was bad. And this is why the NHL will remain a garage league. The officiating on and off the ice is embarrassing.

Keep your eye on the L column, it's the true measure when GP's are all over the map.....now only 3 teams in the West with more losses than the Blouse.
