Never a doubt with this game. They had this one won before they even stepped off the plane. We are simply a better team than Columbus and there was no way they would have a meltdown after blowing last night's lead and needing the shootout to get the 2nd point... You knew they would play a hard 60 minutes of hockey and would only allow a goal or two. Heck, one of those goals was a fluke bounce!! (officiating was terrible again today - both ways)
What "The Note" needs to worry about is Chicago, Detroit and Minnesota, in 4 days. Chicago has not been playing all that great and there are some nervous folks in the Windy City. I've been up there on business several times in the last 4-6 weeks and I've been listening to the sports radio. They're a little concerned with the Hawk's play as of late. So, I think it will be a tough game but I give us a real good shot at winning that one. Detroit may be another matter. They are simply a better team. The Blues need an A+ effort and Detroit to have a slightly off-night. If they bring their A-game, we're screwed. Considering they're in a battle for 1st with San Jose, we may just see their A-game. Minnesota is very beatable, even at home. But that will be the 3rd game in 4 days and the boyz in blue may not have enough in the tank to finish them off. I saw some tired legs today. Fortunately, Columbus looked even more tired. I just hope these kids can go the full ride. Some of them have never had to to this and certainly not at this level. This is just as intense as playoff hockey!!!
If they can get 4 or 5 of the 6 points available on this swing, I'll feel real good about making it. If they only get 3 or less, it will be tough...
Amazing how these kids are stepping up!!
Go Blue!!
