Anyone that has played sports knows that winning begets winning and losing begets losing. Sometimes it gets in your head and eats away like a cancer. With as many young guys as the Blues have and the weak leadership within the ranks, this little slide may not end so easily. Backes is not the strongest of captains and the other veterans aren't exactly stepping up. Throw in some terrible goaltending and this is what you get. I still think they have too much talent to slide too far. And I think Hitchcock will make them work their way out of it. But look at the Capitals. All that talent and they can't figure it out.
