As Albert is about to snack number 600 and is fast closing in on 3000 hits & 2000 rbi's...........with 1st base a train wreck since he left, perhaps Mo and company should have not insulted a franchise player with a lowball offer to start negotiations. A guy scoring Close to 100 Runs a year, hitting 30+ homeruns a year, and 150 hits a year would be worth having having for the money AP is getting. A 600 HR and 3000 hit and 2000 RBI guy would have been great to have
Since 2001 when AP came into the league he has 599 HR's, 608 doubles, 1855 RBI's, 491 go ahead rbi's, 294 GW rbi's........and still has a career .308 average with his off years and injuries. Shouldn't have let him go and paid the man what he was worth. Considering what Mo paid for Brett Cecil, $20,000 an inning to suck balls, AP should have gotten $60,000,000 a year. The Cecil contract is an abortion and Cecil is laughing all the way to the bank.
Hell AP has a chance to get to 2000 runs also. That would put him in the same company as Aaron as the only 2 people with 3000 hits. 600+ homers and 2000+ rbi's, & 2000+ runs............but Mo didn't want to pay the man what he was worth. Even as a declining player, his ass is STILL producing better than anyone we keep sticking at 1st.
