Sunqvist for 4 years at $2.75 mil per season. Probably a fair deal for both sides. And it could be a really good deal for the Blues if he plays like we saw he was capable of playing this past year, especially in the playoffs.
He probably would have been able to get $3 mil per year if he spelled his name right.
Looks like the only two left are Edmundson and Barbashev. Edmundson has an arbitration hearing in August and Barbashev isn't eligible for arbitration. I guess his only real option is to go back Russia, if he doesn't like what the Blues offer. I'm guessing both deals will get done this week and they'll have very little left for Maroon, unless they do some sort of salary dump. I wouldn't bet much on the Blues signing Maroon. Between the lack of funds available and his size/speed/style of play, he's going to find it hard to find a spot on the Blues. Kinda sad, all things considered. But that is the reality of things in a salary cap league.
Go Blues!!
