Agreed on the re-up stuff. He has a few of those that left everyone scratching their head. But what team/GM doesn't have a few of those? I suppose the only one that really angered me was the re-signing of Berglund. But talk about redemption!! To think he was part of the O'Reilly deal. That's what I call fixing your mistake... The other "bad signings" can all be looked at in retrospect as bad but there was some logic to them at the time of the signing.
I heard Jeremy Ruthorford on the radio this morn and he was pretty confident that Maroon has no offers for more than one-year and he really wants a two-year deal. He also was pretty sure the big hang-up is his lack of speed. In other words, he's just too slow for most NHL teams to invest $2+ mil for 2 years. And if the Blues do end up signing him, it will only be for one year. Let's hope that gets done...
A little surprised the Edmundson deal isn't done yet. That one may end up in arbitration. I can't recall the last time the Blues went to arbitration. Think about this... Maroon needs Edmundson to lose in arbitration, if he has any hope of staying with the Blues. I'm guessing he is keeping those thoughts to himself...
