I think Maroon is just a one year guy.....for a team that needs that guy. The Blues still do, so I hope they can find a way.
Look, Maroon is slow, but he has great hockey sense.....and he plays such a heavy game, constantly leaning on someone, that he slows down the opponent's fast lines, especially in the offensive end.
I was happy when the Blues brought him here because I had followed him as a pro, as a local kid that I watched in HS, and I knew his game...the Blues needed him.
I can be just as happy if the Blues can find someone like him, because they still need that physical presence, as we saw. Once they found their game, beat the other team down, they found the winning formula for the team. If they want to use that as a base and find some scorers and speed guys to bring it up to an even higher level (let's face it, they caught lightning in a bottle last year) then fine....but where are those guys?? This is NOT going to be a new team next year, and Maroon is a big part of the teams chemistry.
