Uh, no... Americans don't think it is censorship. They just think most Canadians are goofy and are particularly glad we don't live there. A nice place to visit, to be sure but no desire to live there. You elected a 16 year-old girl, trapped in a man's body to run your country and make the PC madness here look like child's play. If 3/4 of the forkin' place wasn't a glacier, you'd have migration of world's dregs that make the European and American immigration problems look like a minor issue.

TV contracts for anything are all about the money. People sit in a room and make business decisions. Can we get more money for the event(s) from advertisers and broadcast to John Q. Public (or is is Jaques Q. Public) for free or via pay-per-view? Anyone that thinks showing an Indy Car race or not has anything to do with censorship is a moron. Until, of course, you think about that moron Trudeau. I can see him demanding they charge people to watch and use the money for CO2 offset credits.
