Pretty cool. They had a street game with his buddies in his little town then an outdoor dinner for all who helped him on his way. He choked up with his grandpa and the Cup.
He's far from perfect player, hard headed to change as they come. But having watched his stints here from the first to the third time he indeed did change and was a big part of this teams effort...he was one of two or three that played well all year too. He did it the hard way, he loves St Louis, it's the only team he has ever signed with and after just missing in Vegas he got it done in the Lou like a dream come true.
On a side note, the Cup itself and how they do what they do with that trophy is the coolest thing in sports.
That's the good stuff!! Can't think of a better dude to do a piece like that. I know some of you hands hate the dude but I've always had nothing but respect for him. He's had some pretty vicious hits laid on him and had his brains scrambled more than once. But he kept coming back and has developed into a fine player. Looks like a pretty good person as well. I like to think that day is how I would spend it with the Cup. Great to see him go back to his roots and play on the street then acknowledge all of people that helped him along the way. But that last scene just puts it all in perspective (and a little moisture in your eye)!
