Kyrou improved his 200 foot game 2 fold this year, scored fewer goals doing it.....but the b1tching never stops. And yes he needs to still improve it some more but THAT is NOT the issue to be looking at with him or team.
He's a talented player, immature to a fault, but he's going to score goals and right now with all the b1tching his contract is in line with multiple players in the league with 30 plus goal range.
He is NOT the problem.
Kyrou is not the problem, but he is part of the problem. He reminds me of the young Perron or Berglund, all of the time. 100+ point talent that gets 70. In the event the Blues make the playoffs in the coming years, he will be an even bigger disappointment. He is soft and terribly inconsistent. He seems to have learned very little from some of the future HOF'rs he's has the privilege to play with. He needs to put on 10-15 lbs and learn to take and deliver hits, when it is necessary. He needs to not get knocked off the puck so much and he needs to show up every shift, of every period, of every game!! He does not need to play like Pat Maroon or Ryan Reaves, but he can't play like he's in the WHNL either. For $8 mil a year, he needs to be better!
Not sure about the Bannister hire, but I really don't know if anyone else available would have been a good fit. I see Berube is likely going to the Leafs. Don't count them out of a Cup run next year, if he does. They have some talent, and he may be able to get them over the hump.
The playoffs have been great!! But I want to take the refs by the throat and ask them, "Why the fork can't you call the games like this during the regular season?" It would elevate the NHL to a real pro sports league. So much better to watch when the refs aren't so desperate to be part of the game...
"kYROU IS NOT THE PROBLEM"
OK...you said that. We have a basis to agree.
I will agree he needs work on the back side. So STICK WITH HIM and see if his offense is worth his defense.
I think it will be.
I predict Chief to the Devils.
We shall see.
I'm good with Bannister....it's a short leash and he seems a perfect candidate for this team right now. I actually think he might stick but if not the timing will be right to bring in another coach when the prospects finally start to produce.
